Aw Pi Kyeh is a well-known cartoonist and environment conservationist. With 30 years of cartooning, his choice of pen name was as such because it means ‘loudspeaker’ in Burmese. In 2007 he was banned from publishing inside Burma after he supported monks in their peaceful protests during the Saffron Revolution. He is looking towards other forms of distribution such as Facebook to publish his works.
