Twenty-four year old Maung Okkar’s film career began at the age of 14 when he starred in Dat-khe, a feature film directed by his father – the celebrated Burmese filmmaker U Wanna. Since then he has appeared alongside Lwin Moe in this well-known Burmese actor’s television travelogues, and has also tried his hand at directing. A philosophy graduate (Dagon University), he is currently studying applied psychology in Yangon. Okkar’s first documentary Charcoal Boy screened at numerous festivals around the world. The Game is his second documentary. He is currently working on a documentary about children’s rights commissioned by Save the Children Myanmar.
